St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital Stroke Support Group

June 20, 2024

Stroke support groups play a vital role in helping stroke survivors and their caregivers navigate recovery and rehabilitation. These groups provide emotional support, share valuable information, and foster a sense of community among members.

St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital and Palmetto General Hospital are both accredited by The Joint Commission for their overall hospital services and specialized stroke programs.  This serves as one of the highest standards for quality and patient safety in healthcare.  St. Catherine’s West achieved these certifications by meeting rigorous standards set by The Joint Commission, demonstrating their commitment to delivering exceptional stroke care.

The Joint Commission’s stroke certifications are developed in collaboration with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, ensuring that certified hospitals can provide improved efficiencies, reduced morbidity and mortality rates, enhanced long-term outcomes, and increased patient satisfaction.

At St. Catherine’s West Rehabilitation Hospital’s 2nd-floor dining room, our support group meets monthly offering Stroke education with guest speakers presenting at each meeting.    To learn more about our dates and topics, please visit https://www.catholichealthservices.org/location/st-catherines-west-rehabilitation-hospital/.
